Dear The Honorable ….
We hope this message finds you in great health, and may your good work continue to benefit this great nation of America and the global community. In this age of continuous constructed conflicts and of continuous distortion of reality, we need leaders like you, who are keen on distinguishing between the facts and the propaganda.
On the occasion of our loss of Mr. Hrant Dink, one of our finest Turkish-Armenian intellectuals, we would like to share our deepest sorrows with you. We would like to also express our firm wishes that what was a deplorable incident indeed and yet strengthened the bonds between Turkish and Armenian communities more than ever shall not harm the strong alliance between Turkey and the United States.
In the aftermath of the death of Mr. Dink, the reactions from both Turkish and Armenian communities have simply affirmed how both communities are attached to each other and how they are fed up with the manipulation of the common bitter experience of Turks and Armenians during the World War I.
The solidarity of Armenians and Turks who together chanted “We are all Hrant, We all Armenian!” in order to protest the killing has been the best response to those who claim an enmity between Turks and Armenians. In addition, Turkish Armenian Patriarch Mesrob Mutafyan II’s comments hinted out the sinister hands behind the killing: “[t]his assassination is a deplorable act that targets our country’s stability and its international relations… Simply unacceptable is it to seek political gains by exploiting the unfortunate deadly incident”
As we near the date when the so-called Armenian genocide resolution will be voted on in the U.S. Congress, we can imagine the increased pressure on you caused by the Armenian Diaspora. We do not even consider it necessary to mention you that the Armenian Diaspora’s distortion of reality has been time and again certified by many fine American and non-American historians.
Nevertheless, we have a firm belief in that despite all the pressure you will realize that the recognition of the so-called genocide will not only dramatically affect Turkish public opinion about the United States, but also paralyze the U.S. efforts to fight the war-on-terror by alienating the only secular Muslim country in the world.
We would like to urge you to do what is best for the American people and for the world: Say “NO” to the Armenian Diaspora’s endless manipulation of the American polity on February 8th by simply opposing the Armenian Genocide Resolution soon to be introduced by Congressmen Schiff, Radanovich, Pallone, and Knollenberg.

İnternet ortamında ‘Özel Büro’ ve ‘Kuvayı Milliye’ isimleri altında örgütlenen bir grup ulusalcı, coplu, telsizli, 1 milyon kişilik teşkilat kuruyor.
Söz konusu milis gücü Kuvayı Milliye Derneği tarafından oluşturuluyor. Derneğin başkanı NATO Özel Harp Daire başkanı olduğu iddia edilen ve emekli Kurmay Albay Fikri Karadağ. Derneğin Başkan Yardımcısı Ali Özoğlu, Tempo dergisine verdiği beyanatta, gerekirse silah bile kullanabileceklerini anlatıyor. Hürriyet Gazetesi yazarı Mehmet Y. Yılmaz söz konusu derneğin bu tür faaliyetlerine nasıl izin verildiğini anlayamadığını söylüyor. MİT Kontr-terör Dairesi eski Başkanı Mehmet Eymür de hatırlanacağı gibi bazı özel oluşumların adam topladığını açıklamıştı.
Tempo dergisinin haberine göre sanal ortamda kendilerine ‘Özel Büro’ diyen, binlerce üyeye sahip olduklarını söyleyen bir ulusalcı grup internette duyuru yaptı. Duyuruda öncelikli olarak İstanbul içinde başta Kürt mafyası olmak üzere tüm şehir terörüne karşı bir girişim başlatıldığı, telsizli ve coplu motorize ekipler kurulacağı ve bu ekiplere katılmak isteyenlerin başvuruda bulunması isteniyor. Hatırlanacağı gibi MİT Kontr-terör Dairesi eski Başkanı Mehmet Eymür, bazı ulusalcı oluşumların çeşitli eylemlerde kullanmak için adam topladıklarını açıklamıştı.
İstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren Kuvayı Milliye Derneği’nin bir alt grubu olan Özel Büro’nun kurucusu Erkut Ersoy, her türlü terör örgütüne ve sözde Ermeni soykırımı iddialarına karşı mücadele ettiklerini söylüyor. Ersoy, halen gruplarının içinde 6 bin 214 görevli olduğunu iddia ederek, bu kişiler içinde subay, MİT ve polisten de yetkililer olduğunu öne sürüyor. Motorize ekip projesi ile ilgili yöneticilerinin Ali Özoğlu bulunduğunu kaydeden Ersoy, proje halindeki motorize milis gücünün öncelikli olarak İstanbul’un iki yakasında da görev yapacağını belirtiyor.
Kendini ‘Toplumsal Dönüşüm Yayınları’ yayın yönetmeni ve Kuvayı Milliye Derneği başkan yardımcısı olarak tanıtan Ali Özoğlu ise kuracakları motorize ekipleri şu sözlerle anlatıyor: “Mümkün olursa 1 milyon motorize ekip oluşturmayı planlıyoruz. Bu şu an için sadece bir fikir. Belki ilk olarak İstanbul’da 100 motor olarak yapacağız. Aynen Yunuslar gibi; ama Vespa tarzı motorlar olacak. Bizim motorize ekip projemizin temelini oluşturan en önemli şey, halka yardımcı olunması.”
Motorize ekiplerde görev yapanlara maaş ödeyeceklerini anlatan Özoğlu, motorize ekiplerin gerekirse silah kullanabileceği mesajı veriyor. Genelkurmay ile bir bağlantılarının olmadığını; ancak bunun ileride olmayacağı manası taşımadığını anlatan Özoğlu, birçok generalin kendileri ile birlikte hareket ettiğini kaydediyor.
Hürriyet Gazetesi yazarı Mehmet Y. Yılmaz ise dünkü yazısında dernek ve faaliyetlerini eleştirerek, “Bir derneğin nasıl olup da bu tür faaliyetlerde bulunabildiği ve buna İçişleri Bakanlığı’nın, istihbarat kuruluşlarımızın nasıl olup da ses çıkarmadığı gerçekten ilginç. Belli ki 12 Eylül öncesine rahmet okutacak bir süreç adım adım geliştiriliyor ve bu herkesin gözünün önünde cereyan ediyor.” ifadelerine yer vermişti.
